When installing the Rubber expansion joints, pls pay attention to below 13 Installation guides:

 

1,Before the installation of Rubber expansion joints to ensure that all surfaces are clean and there are no sharp edges of any kind on the steel flanges. No gaskets is required. Check pressure to confirm if control rods are required.

 

2, The types of Rubber expansion joints have to be chose as per the Working pressure, connection type, medium and movements of the pipelines, the quantities required are based on the Noise reduction movement.

 

3, If the pipelines will generate Instantaneous pressure, and the instantaneous pressure is bigger than the working pressure, then the pressure we chose for the Rubber expansion joints should be bigger than the working pressure.( For example, if the Instantaneous pressure of the pipelines >1.0Mpa, we should choose the rubber expansion joints with 1.6Mpa working pressure; if the instantaneous pressure of the pipelines >1.6Mpa, we should choose the rubber expansion joints with 2.5Mpa working pressure;

 

4, When the medium of the pipeline is acid, alkali, oil, high temperature or other special material, the pressure of the chosed rubber expansion joints should be bigger than the working pressure of the pipelines.

 

5, The flange to be connectted to the rubber expansion joints should be Valve flange or RF flange.

 

6, The suitable medium for the rubber expansion joints should be water whose temperature is 0-60℃, if the medium is special medium such as: Oil, acid, alkali, high temperature or other corrosive or hard medium, the correspondingly special rubber material will be chosed, blind interchange use or general use is forbidden.

 

7, If the Rubber expansion joints are installed in the inlet or outlet of the water pump, it should be located in the side of water pump, the metal reducer union should be installed between the water pump and rubber expansion joints, and it should be installed in the big diameter side of the reducer union.

 

8, When the movement of the pipeline ≥maximum movement of the rubber expansion joint, should increase the quantities of the rubber expansion joints to banlance the movement, it is forbbiden to adjust the tolerance of the pipeline and make the rubber expansion joints be the status of ultimate tortile movement and deviation, and certainly can not exceed the limitation( extension, compression, movement and deflection).

 

9, High-rise building’s water supply or air water supply, the pipeline should be fixed on the lifting frame, bracket or anchor bracket, and prevent the rubber expansion joints from sustaining the weight and axial force of the pipelines, or the rubber expansion joints should be equipped with Pulling resistant devices ( Its sustaining ability must bigger than the axial force of the pipelines). 

 

10,When installing the rubber expansion joints, the screw should be towards the outside of the rubber expansion joints, the bolts of every flange end faces should be tightened evenly repeatedly, to avoid offset.

 

11, When the rubber expansion joints sustain the pressure for the first time ( Pressure testing after installation) or restart after without be used for a long time, the bolts should be tightened again with pressure and then put into operation.

 

12, Do not weld near the rubber expansion joints or weld the steel flanges to the piping after the rubber expansion joints had been installed. This will either burn or seriously damage the rubber expansion joints.

 

13, The use and the storage of the rubber expansion joints, should avoid the environment of High temperature, ozone, oil, acid and alkali. Insolation, rain and wind erosion is forbbiden. It is also forbbiden to paint on the rubber surface or wind thermal insulation material on the surface of the rubber. If there are exsists aging problems to the rubber expansion joints, check and replace in time is necessary.
