On the basis of choosing high-quality stainless steel wire material, Bellowman’s stainless steel wire braid was braided by the bunching machine and fits on the outer surface of the metal hoses, to reinforce the corrugated hose and increase the pressure-carrying capacity of the overall assembly. Additionally, the outer braid protects the inner hose from mechanical abrasion and helps to dampen vibration. According to the parameter setting during the process of braiding makes the braid fits tightly over the hose and is welded securely to its ends which provide excellent flexibility.
The stainless steel wire braid was provided in diameter from ¼" to 24". Typically, materials used for braiding are similar to the underlying hose but, can differ for each application. Each size of hose has maximum pressure rating which varies depending on single or double thickness of the braids.

Bellowman braid is inventoried in the standard materials of Type 304 and Type 316L stainless steel. Special alloy wires can be braided for you as per requirement.

The forming method which Bellowman adopted for the metal hoses is hydroforming, they are manufactured from thin gauge metal coils that feed into tooling and result in a precision-welded tube form. The welded tube is then run through corrugators to produce a metal hose with maximum flexibility. A secondary proprietary operation sets the final configuration and optimizes fatigue life.
Bellowman’s metal hoses available in sizes from ¼" to 24". The metal hose assemblies can be custom fabricated in length which can be 100 meters long maximum. The materials available in Stainless steel, Bronze, Monel and Inconel. End connection options and structures include screwed joints, flange connections and quick disconnect couplings.
