In the piping systems, the Pipe reducer is a kind of pipe fittings that be used for reducing piping size. There are two types of pipe reducer as follows: A, Concentric reducer: have a central axis (centerline) of the section between the large and small, often be used in vertical pipe lines. B, Eccentric reducer: the central axis are different between a large section and small, often be used in horizontal pipe lines. But relatively speaking, concentric reducer is more commonly found in different piping systems and more commonly used than eccentric reducer.

According to the manufacturing standards the pipe reducer can be divided into American standard, German standard, Japanese standard and the GB standard etc. If according to the pressure rating it can be divided into Sch10、Sch20、Sch30; STD: Sch40、Sch60; XS: Sch80、Sch100、Sch120、Sch140、Sch160; XXS；150mm maximum. STD and XS are in common use.
